Right after I have gotten my new carbon fibre SIRUI tripod T1204X, I knew I have to give it a try with long exposure shot that I have been wanting to do with my BIG STOPPER from LEE filter. Lugging the SIRUI tripod around has become a lot more easier! I am very contented to have made the tripod upgrade from my trusty MANFROTTO 190XPROB which can be a monster to carry while traveling, well, I must say that the MANFROTTO tripod has indeed served me well and has never failed on me. Because of its weight and sturdiness, I feel very secured every time I go traveling with it as I believe that it is hard enough to break a man’s bone in any case of emergency! OK, jokes aside, after walking around City Hall area, I have finally decided on the war memorial that I am going to try my new setup on.
Laid back in November 15, 1920, this war memorial has a very long way back. The history can be easily searched in the internet. Located in between the Esplanade and the Padang field, it has a nice and quiet environment around where you can find people relaxing themselves on the grass during the weekdays. And I must say that this 93 year old war memorial has marked my first satisfied result from long exposure shot! Very little enhancement was done on this RAW picture using photoshop and pretty much of the details were untouched.
The picture shown below was taken with 5D II with 16-35mm F2.8 L with BIG STOPPER on LEE filter holder. I have fixed the holder to only hold one filter to assure myself that I will face no vignetting on my Ultra Wide Angle at 16mm Full Frame. My lens has a B+W UV filter (non-slim) which I did not take out when I fixed on my LEE filter holder. As you can see, no vignetting. In this picture, I like it for its cloud movement captured.

Excellent mix of movement and stillness. Great shot.
